Depending on the actual mineralogy and composition, basalt may weather slowly and contribute calcium, magnesium, potassium and trace elements. Total mineral content is not plant availability. Performance depends on particle size, soil, pH, climate, rate and crop; suitability requires analysis and agronomic advice.
